Architectural firm Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and Structural Engineers, AKT, specified the Wi System for use on the Chobham Academy’s blockwork package. The design consisted of a combination of Wi Columns and Wi Beams. The Wi System design removed the traditional windpost issues of closely centred movement joints and fire protection. The Wi System also eliminated the heavy concrete lintels with the Wi Beams located to provide built-in lintels above door openings.
